I have practiced law in all three Larimer County courthouses. I was an Assistant County
Attorney when the courthouse now being destroyed was constructed. I own the 9' floor of the
Savings Bank Condominium Association at 125 S. Howes Street. Obviously, the project being
planned for the courthouse offices engenders some real interest for me.
I submit that in the consideration of the two projects, the closing of Mountain Avenue and
a conversion to a pedestrian mall must be seriously considered. I am sure that all parties are
coordinating with the additional structures planned by the City. The new library and performing
arts center will be built. Other structures and facilities are contemplated. The pedestrian traffic
will be exponentially increased and the freedom of movement afforded by closing Mountain
Avenue must be considered.
