calls out "surface -mount." Please re -affirm the former.
For the S-6, the quantity is still not indicated. The Gotham is a new fixture versus the
Bega. Please provide a cut -sheet. Please indicate the LED count. Please indicate the
Kevin. While the luminaire description states "recessed, " please add "and flush -mount. "
Staff is concerned about the use of the 14 Exterior Surface Mounted Decorative
Luminous Cubes that are to be attached to the north surface of the canopy along
Doctors Lane. These fixtures are redundant and, like the S-4's on Hospital Lane, do not
appear serve any practical purpose. The sides appear to be exposed and unshielded.
Illumination in this area will be sufficiently provided by the two S-3's and the ten S-6's as
well as roadway lighting on Doctors Lane. The illuminance plan shows no foot-candle
measurements under these fixtures. Staff finds no compelling reason for these fixtures.
For practicality and sustainability, these fixtures should be deleted.
Thank you for responding to our comments to eliminate this fixture.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about these comments
Sincerely:

For the S-2 fixtures: quantity is 4. Please indicate in a separate line that the LED count
is 20. Same comments apply as to color temperature as for the S-1's. Indicate that the
lumens are 20,950. Please select color: bronze.
For the S-2, the quantity is still not indicated. The LED count, while described in the
Luminaire line, is still not listed separately thus requiring the cut sheet to accompany the
plan sheet. There is no response to the request to lower the Kelvin. The color bronze
has not been selected. Staff requests that the Kelvin temperature be lowered to 3,000.
For the S-3 fixtures: quantity is 7. Indicate in a separate line that the LED count is 18.
Per the cut sheet, indicate that the color temperature is 4,000. Please indicate lumens
(1,150 or 1,610). Please select color: bronze.
For the S-3, the quantity is still not indicated. The LED count, while described in the
Luminaire line, is still not listed separately thus requiring the cut sheet to accompany the
plan sheet. There is no response to the request to lower the Kelvin. The color bronze
has not been selected. Staff requests that the Kelvin temperature be lowered to 3, 000.
The four S-4 fixtures along Hospital Lane are redundant as they are located between
public roadway lighting and parking lot lighting. By being placed in the parkway, there is
a potential conflict with the street trees. Illuminating the parkway under street trees is
not necessary. These four fixtures should be eliminated as they serve no purpose.
For the S-4, the quantity is still not listed. The quantity should be two. While the plan
sheet indicates that the fixtures have been eliminated along Hospital Lane, there is still
an extraneous reference on the plan sheet calling out S4. Please reconcile. There is
no response to reduce the Kelvin from 4,100 to 3, 000
For the remaining two S-4's, in the courtyard, please indicate the new quantity: 2. Due
to issues related with brightness, please reduce these from the 4,100K to the 3,000K.
Indicate the lumens: 950. Select a color: bronze. (The cut sheet does not provide the
number of LED lamps per fixture. If known, please provide)
There is no response to reduce the Kelvin from 4,100 to 3, 000 and no response to
indicate the lumens and no response to select the color.' bronze.
For the S-5's, quantity: 3. By selecting the 3K, please indicate the lumens: 1,310 —
1,317. Select a color: bronze.
For the S-5, the quantity is still not listed and lumens are not listed and the color,
bronze, has not been selected.
For the S-6's, quantity: 22. Please indicate the LED count (cut sheet does not provide).
It appears that the 3K has been selected. Indicate the lumens: 1,300. While the

RE: PVH A -wing Comments
Dear Angie,
In reviewing the revised plans, the Planning Department has no remaining comments
on the site plan, landscape plan and architectural elevations.
Staff, however, has reviewed and has comments on the revised Lighting Plan. Because
this is one of the first, large-scale, institutional applications of exterior LED lighting, the
Plan has been carefully scrutinized. In summary, there are two places where there is
redundant lighting and should be eliminated. The Schedule is missing information and
selections. Please note the following comments:
For the S-1 fixtures: indicate that the quantity is 16. Please indicate in a separate line
that the LED count is 20. Per the cut sheet, please select the lowest possible color
temperature. The cut sheet indicates that 4,000K is the lowest. If there is a lower color
temperature, please select the lowest possible as new exterior LED lighting is in
dramatic contrast to public roadway lighting and the City has received complaints about
their brightness. Indicate the lumens are 19,862. Please select color: bronze as this
color most closely conforms with and blends in with the exterior building materials and
colors.
For the S-1, the quantity is still not indicated. The LED count, while described in the
Luminaire line, is still not listed separately thus requiring the cut sheet to accompany the
plan sheet. There is no response to the request to lower the Kelvin. The color bronze
has not been selected. In order for these plans to be approved, Staff requests that the
Kelvin temperature be lowered to 3,000.
