Hello,
I recently received a Notice of Public Hearing for the proposed Scott Plaza development at 1201 W. Plum Street.
I do not have any real desire for this project to not go through. HOWEVER, with 194 bedrooms and likely over 200
people sleeping there on any given night, the proposed 95 parking spaces is significantly inadequate.
Given the example of the recently built apartments on S College Ave, just south of Prospect, and the parking debacle in
the nearby neighborhood, attention should be given to any new development providing adequate parking for all of its
residents. The assumption that the development is close to campus and therefore the student residents (likely all of the
residents) will use bicycles instead of cars has been proven totally invalid.
Please do not allow any new development of apartments without adequate parking facilities for all of the residents, not
just a few more than the number of units. It is foolish to dump the problem of parking problems and regulations on the
city staff, whoever they may be.
Thanks for taking this input.
Sincerely,
Jack Armstrong
