We are one of the largest apartment complexes in the area and would like to express our enthusiastic support for this project. The inevitable growth of CSU, the downtown area and Fort Collins on the whole and the shortage of housing units this will bring make higher density infill projects such as Elizabeth Street a good idea for Fort Collins. Already traffic around CSU and the downtown area during the school year has become a real negative. Any projects which are close enough -to the university or downtown areas to encourage the tenants to use alternative transportation methods are a good idea. Although we feel adequate parking should be encouraged and park -like developments are an asset to the city, we feel that keeping the worker or student in close proximity to their destination a far greater benefit to Fort Collins. Housing developments close to point of need discourage urban sprawl, which is a shared goal for the whole front range.
