MELDRUM ST., CHANGE OF USE - MINOR AMENDMENT - 23-99 - CORRESPONDENCE - APPLICANT COMMUNICATIONLANDSCAPE PROPOSAL 302 NORTH MELDRUM FORT COLLINS, CO Design objective: The purpose of this landscape is to enhance the exterior of the existing building and to bring it into compliance with current ADA standards and city code. It shall provide visual relief from the hard edges of the building and the parking lot. It can also provide a space for the current tenants to gather in an outdoor setting. The landscaped area will also help mitigate stormwater runoff. The interior parking lot has 3 parking spaces, including one handicap space. According to Section 3.2.2M(1), in the Fort Collins Land Use Code, 6% interior landscape coverage is not required. The streetscape uses small street trees to allow for mature growth under existing utilities. Shrubs that obtain a mature growth of three to four feet provide for additional screening and help to break the monotony of a long linear space. Cobble or washed rock is used as a mulch in this area and will conserve water. The plants in this landscape were chosen for their tolerance to low water.
