302 NORTH MELDRUM
FORT COLLINS, CO.
Design objective:
The purpose of this landscape is to enhance the exterior of the existing building and to
bring it into compliance with currant ADA standards and city code. The interior parking lot
landscape meets with and exceeds the perscribed 6% of the total parking space. It shall provide
visual relief from the hard edges of the building and the parking lot. It can also provide a space
for the currant tennants to gather in an outdoor setting. The interior landscaped area will also
help mitigate storm water runoff.
The streetscape uses small ornamental trees to allow for mature growth under existing
utilities. Shrubs that obtain a mature growth of three to four feet provide for additional .
screening and help to break the monotony of a long linear space. Cobble or washed rock is used
as a mulch in this area and will conserve water. The plants in this landscape were chosen for
their tolerance to low water.
