They are proposing a 6' high chain link fence to screen equipment. 3.8.13(C)(5)
prohibits the use of chain link for screening. Needs to be wood, stucco, masonry, etc
and be opaque. Also, since the equipment is taller than 6', they'll need landscaping or
something else to screen it all.
Be sure and return all of your redlined plans when you re -submit.
If you have any questions regarding these issues or any other issues related to this project,
please feel free to call me at (970) 221-6750.

Staff has reviewed your submittal for SCOTCH PINES WTF, CRICKET
COMMUNICATIONS -TYPE I #34-99D, and we offer the following comments:
ISSUES:
Department: Current Planning
11 Issue Contact: Bob Barkeen
Masonry wall is needed for screening
The proposed chain link enclosing the ground -mounted equipment is unacceptable.
Enclosure material must be opaque and match the existing building. A masonry wall will
need to be proposed with wooden access gates.
12 Issue Contact: Bob Barkeen
Setbacks need to be noted
Setbacks from the property lines to the tower will need to be shown on the site plan.
13
Issue Contact: Bob Barkeen
Planning Certification needs to be on the site plan (enclosed) instead fo the P&Z certificate.
15
light elevation
Issue Contact: Bob Barkeen
The elevation of the proposed light should be lowered, possibly no higher than 30 feet,
due to the proximity of the adjacent residential.
16 Issue Contact: Bob Barkeen
location
If the location of the ground mounted equipment enclosure moves, staff would highly
recommend it be located within the'corner' of the existing building.

Drew,
I have attached the latest comments for the Scotch Pines monopole. Please make the corrections and
resubmit three copies for further review as soon as possible.
I went to the Mountain Crest Site yesterday to look at the other building. That is the new Neenan building,
the address is 2809 East Harmony Road. I must say, it does look pretty promising for locating an antenna
on. I would like you to look into this site further, finding out if the owners would be willing to negotiate a
lease, if the building will accommodate an antenna, and if the site will functionally work. Cameron has
asked me to look into this site, to see if it will work before he renders a decision on the Mountain Crest
site. I would recommend after you've done your research, write me a letter detailing you results (including
your time constraints) Also, I don't know if Cricket or other companies have done this, but if a 'temporary'
facility may work, that may be a possibility to allow you to meet your time frame on this site while exploring
other sites.
Please let me know what you find out.
Thanks, Bob
