(HEIGHT INFORMATION TO FOLLOW WHEN WE GET IT) (j) Hazardous Materials Impact Analysis The Design Team has evaluated the building design for hazardous materials, which may be associated with construction or ongoing operation once completed. Our review has identified two systems, which will contain materials of concern to Poudre Fire Authority. These two materials are the battery acid in the Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) and the diesel fuel needed to.fuel the back-up generator. Each system is presented separately. 1. UPS Batteries: The design incorporates a small UPS component to provide immediate electrical power to basic building systems in the event of a power failure. The UPS size is proposed to be 80 kw and will support the following systems: • Computer Room • Critical Data Processing Equipment The UPS batteries are sealed lead acid batteries. Historically they are very reliable. 2. Back-up Generator Diesel Fuel: The design incorporates a generator to provide sustainable power to the buildings basic systems. The proposed generator is 100 kw and is designed to support the following: • Data Processing Room • Data Cooling Loads • Building Egress System The fuel is 85 gallons of #2 diesel and is stored on the skid for the generator. The storage is a double walled tank to prevent leakage. In the event of a leak an alarm goes off and it is attached to the annunciator panel in the building lobby. If the alarm is activated PFA will be notified. If PFA requires additional information please contact Bruce Dalton at OZ Architecture. 1820 Folsom BoLddcr, Colorado 80302 Phone 303.449.8900 fax 303.449.3886 0 E N V E 8 .
