I will be out of town on Oct. 18, but wish to express my opposition to a group home at 703
Peterson St.
I have lived'in my home at 635 Pet?erson.for over 28 years,. and through those years have always e
been glad that I live in a neighborhood that is not hedged around with restrictive covenants. This
neighborhood has been home -to: several:group home's, most notably Larico House,, and I've a
always thought that this was a good thing. (I am also glad that there is.a mix of owner -occupied
and rental homes.)
However, the zoning that exists protects any neighborhood from becoming too filled with group .
homes, and I think that zoning makes sense. Tiiis residents of this neighborhood do not contribute
to the need for'group homes any more or any less than the residents of.any,neighborhood in our .
city. I believe that the responsibility for caring for special needs people should also be spread
within the community.
