City of Ft. Collins:
We are the owners of 634 Matthews St., Ft. Collins. We have twenty
four apartments at that location and the majority of the units are occupied by
long term tenants. We already have a_ group home two doors away from our
property and the tenants are bothered by the problems this creates. It is
unfair to ask them to tolerate another group home in such close proximity to
their homes. As an investor in Ft. Collins, to jeopardize our property value
by placing another group home so close to the existing one and so close to
our property is unconscionable. We will literally be sandwiched between
two group homes.
We want to make our views clear to the city and say that we strongly
object to the proposal to modify the Land and Use Code to allow an
exception to the 1000 feet separation rule. If necessary, we will take legal
action to stop this variance.
