Charney 635 Peterson Fort Collins, CO 80524 12 October 1999 I will be out of town on Oct. 18, but wish to express my opposition to a group home at 703 Peterson St. I have lived in my home at 635 Peterson for over 28 years, and through those years have always been glad that I live in a neighborhood that is not hedged around with restrictive covenants. This neighborhood has been home to several group homes, most notably Larico House, and I've always thought that this was a good thing. (I am also glad that there is.a mix of owner -occupied and rental homes.) However, the zoning that exists protects any neighborhood from becoming too filled with group homes, and I think that zoning makes sense. This residents of this neighborhood do not contribute to the need for group homes any more or any less than the residents of any neighborhood in our city. I believe that the responsibility for caring for special needs people should also be spread within the community. Sincerely, Cr J O. Charney
