Subject: against rezoning
This is in regard to the rezoning of the corner of Harmony and Timberline.
From reading the article in the Coloradoan if it is rezoned the Harmony Store
and Garage will be no more. From the perspective of a native of Colorado this
seems to be going against our heritage. Ft. Collins was a farming community
and is wasn't that long ago that Harmony Store and Garage were an integral
part of that community. Harmony Store served as a place to get your
groceries, fresh meat and a cool drink on a hot day not to say that it also
served as post office and library, and a good place to catch up on all the
news in the community. The Garage was a well known place for all to get
repairs on any piece of equipment, farm or otherwise. If the city allows it
to be torn down we will lose a big part of the history of the area. With all
of the growth in Ft. Collins lets not let it be destroyed. this is part of
the heritage and history of what Ft. Collins was. Lets leave it so our future
generations can see a small part of the history of the area that made it a
great community. Sincerely
