RE: Stoddard Property — Overall Development Plan
Steve:
Delineation of the canal right-of-way and access to the right-of-way need to be clear. The
canal in this area is quite irregular and will at some point need reshaping. Within the 100
foot buffer;provided along the canal, 50 feet from the center of the canal or 30 feet from
the west `bank -of the canal should be designated as exclusive right-of-way for The Lake
Canal Company, which ever is greater.
Access to the right-of-way needs to be available. If access on the north end of the right-
of-way is not assured through the railroad right-of-way, then access will have to be
provided to connect to the public street system. Access on the south end appears to
continue without interference.
Crossing agreements will be needed if any utilities, etc are going to ingress into the canal
right-of-way.
It is the current policy of The Lake Canal Company to remove or have removed all
woody vegetation within the canal right-of-way.
Please keep us informed as to the progress of this proposal and any meeting involving
this proposal.
