Dear Beverly,
I received your e-mail requesting your application for a bed and breakfast at 400 East Olive Street be
withdrawn. Your e-mail to me will serve as written request to withdraw this application. The City has closed
your file and removed this item from the September 17, 2001 Planning and Zoning Board agenda.
You are also requesting a refund of the $3,887.00 application fee paid to review the proposal. I have
forwarded this request to Cameron Gloss, who will consider your request based on City policy. While I
would not anticipate a full refund, a portion of the fee may be returned for staff review and recording fees
which will not be completed.
If I can provide any further assistance, please let me know.
Thanks,
Bob Barkeen

Dear Bob,
Thank you for your return call concerning the status of our PDP proposal. We
have received estimates from our engineering firm and for paving the alley
behind our house. This amounts to a large amount of money which we did not
plan on. In addition, I received an e-mail from Susan Joy indicating that
site plans would need to be changed, and that the area in front of our garage
needs to be redesigned to meet City code. The work in front of our garage
was done by the City in 1999. Therefore, we have decided to withdraw our
proposal. I want to know the proper procedure for stopping this process and
for being refunded our $3997.00 in fees. We feel we have been misinformed,
misdirected, and have come to the conclusion we know longer want to provide
this city with a beautiful bed and breakfast. Thank you for your assistance.
