ALTERNATIVE MITIGATION IDEAS 1. Temporary surface irrigation (sprinklers with surface pipes) to help the new wetlands get established. 2. Mitigate with a substantially higher quality of wetlands rather than using a higher mitigation ratio (i.e. provide more quality rather than more quantity). 3. Consider Natural Resources or Parks recommendations for possible off -site wetlands mitigation which would be in the public interests and in lieu of some of the Redtail mitigation requirements. 4. Hire a professional company to complete an ecological cleanup and enhancement of the three ponds, as necessary and with approval from Natural Resources, so they are healthier ponds and can better support fish, birds, and other wildlife. By moving the waterline approximately 20' north, we avoid almost all of the wetlands impact in a very sensitive area which was occurring at the north end of the middle pond previously in our Submittal #3. 2. Please see the enclosed plan, which identifies for you the seven impacted wetlands. And in relation to that please see the enclosed table describing each respective wetlands size, quality, recommended mitigation ratio and recommended mitigation required. 3. Also see the enclosed table showing the maximum mitigation area on site which we believe is possible to achieve, the amount of new wetlands which we probably have sufficient water to support, as well as alternative mitigation ideas. 4. Disturbances in wetland areas in #2 and #3 are for the purpose of emergency public safety activity (emergency access road), utility installations that cannot be reasonably located elsewhere (water line) and construction of a pedestrian walkway that will provide public access for educational purposes, and therefore we would request that these disturbances be allowed and consideration be given to not requiring or reducing mitigation for same.
