Subject: Redtail project
We met with Tess Jones from CDOT yesterday regarding the South College Access Management Plan
project and we had a chance to review the Redtail project briefly with her. She hadn't seen the project
prior to yesterday but I wanted to pass along her concerns and the issues we discussed:
1. Tess needs a copy of the project and the TIS.
2. She believes there is an existing sight distance problem with the frontage roads at Cameron and that
the prior permits reflect this. This problem should be addressed by the applicant.
3. Due to the high speeds on South College (CDOT just raised the speed limit to 55 mph in this area), she
would prefer to see a porkchop island be used to limit the right-in/right-out movement to College rather
than the installation of a median due to the problems that the City and CDOT are experiencing on South
College south of Triangle Drive (Victoria Estates).
4. A suggestion was made to consider the entrance to the frontage road off of Cameron as right -in only -
what are other people's thoughts about this?
Please let me know if you need any more info on this - plus Tom R. was also at our meeting, so let me
know if I missed anything.
