A total of 5 of these fixtures will be installed at the locations on the attached plan, in the northeast section of the project, to increase light levels at these walkway locations. Reference designation "3" on the attached plans. Tear sheets and photometrics are also provided for the pole -mounted commercial fixtures (Hinkley Lighting-- "Manor House' #77611, with 175 MH lamps, Type III refractor, at 10'-0" mounting height). A total of 6 of these lights will be installed at the indicated locations so as to enhance lighting levels at areas which would be somewhat under -lit by the building - mounted fixtures, while avoiding placements so close to living structures so as to constitute an annoyance. Reference designation "4" on the attached plans. For overall clarity, the attached photometric plan also indicates City street lighting, existing or to be installed, based upon information provided by Janet McTague of Light and Power. Because of the overall site configuration, we believe that these lights do constitute a relevant factor, even though it is apparently usually indicated that (public) streetlights not be included with photometric submissions. We appreciate your cooperation to this point and believe that this plan as submitted will provide the balance that is desired by all parties. And, as you have suggested, I will gladly meet with you and Joseph Gerdom of the Police Department to review this submission and address any further concerns and modifications. We understand that the City's (usual) concern is with over- rather than under -lighting. In addition to strategically -placed pole -mounted commercial fixtures, we are proposing extensive use of residential (building - mounted) fixtures and limited use of residential (post -mounted) fixtures. In our previous multifamily projects, we have found a combination of similar fixtures to meet practical area and security lighting requirements without "over -lighting". Thus, we have achieved project lighting which our residents and neighbors have found adequate and pleasing, without presenting annoyances. We believe this submitted plan will accomplish that same objective. Standard (computer -plotted) photometric data is not available for the non-commercial fixtures. However, we have taken field measurements from existing installations and have provided them on the attached modified photometric plan. Reference designation "1" on the attached plans. Tear sheets and the field measurements for the building -mounted residential fixtures (Accolade-- Model #Z103, with 60 watt A lamps) are attached. This field measurement data is presented on the attached plan. 1 of these fixtures will be installed over each garage door (total of 80) and 1 will be installed at each front door location (total of 80). All of these (160) fixtures will be activated by photocells to help ensure consistent exterior lighting levels without dependency on individual homeowners. [1 will also be installed at each patio or deck location (total of 80), but these are designed as switch -controlled units.] A supplemental sheet (at a larger, 1:10 scale) centered on Buildings "C" and "G" on the west half of the project has also been provided to more clearly indicate the photometrics for these building - mounted residential fixtures. We believe the overall effect is certainly adequate and that, in general, these fixtures will provide lighting generally greater than that which is present on the existing single family homes in the neighborhood. Tear sheets for the pole -mounted residential fixtures (Progress Lighting —Model P5482-31, with 100 watt A lamps, at 6'-0" mounting height) are attached.
