The City owns the property and is applying for rezoning of the former Power Plant site located at 430 N. College Avenue - see attached site vicinity map for the location- from Public Open Lands (POL) to River Downtown Redevelopment District (RDR). The purpose of the rezoning request is to enable the City to consider locating a homeless day facility on the property. What can you expect from attending the neighborhood meeting? The purpose the meeting is to open a line of communication between the applicant and the neighbors. This is the forum through which the neighbors can express their concerns, city staff can explain the rezoning process and outline applicable policies/regulations, and the applicant can explain to the neighbors what he/she is intending to do with the property and answer questions. Meeting minutes are taken by city staff, and become part of the project file. Neighborhood meetings are typically scheduled early in the project, before any development ideas have been formalized so that flexibility still exists for the input of neighbors to perhaps be integrated into the project. The list of affected property owners for this neighborhood information meeting is derived from official records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between home occupancy and record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so that everyone has the opportunity to attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are welcome and can be submitted to the Current Planning Department at the address listed below. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Heather Brooks at 221-6505 or contact her via e-mail at hbrooks@fcgov.com.
