We are writing this in response to the proposed project in our
neighborhood commonly known as Modification of Standards for the
Reider Duplex, File #13-02.
We strongly urge you to deny the request by the applicant to
reduce the required off-street parking from 4 spaces to 1 space.
Parking conditions in our neighborhood are deplorable. Many of the
rental properties have four or five students sharing 2 bedrooms and
each one has their own vehicle. Rdd to this the employees who work
for the University that park in our neighborhood and the lack of street
parking becomes extreme. Throw in any visitors the renters may
have and students who park to attend classes and you have a very
over crowded situation. On any given day you can find cars parked in
non -parking areas.
Please do not make an already extremely bad parking situations
worse. Those of us who have lived in this neighborhood for a long
time are tired of seeing vehicles parked on lawns, across sidewalks
and in our driveways.
Do not grant this request for the reduction of the required
number of off-street parking spaces.
