of the demolition effort, little if any negative impact upon the general area is anticipated. The
construction contractor will be responsible for "policing" the area with respect to debris, mud
or undue runoff or residue during the process.
In sum, in my opinion this project will have no measurable impact upon the current drainage
pattern of the sub -basin of which it is a part, when completed. Any disturbance to the pattern
during construction will be extremely minimal, if indeed measurable. This project should
prove a thoughtful improvement to the area, without significant impact to the drainage patterns
involved. If you have arty questions, please contact me at (970)667-1950.

Re: Viale Collegio, 706 College Avenue
Dear Mr. Schlueter.
At the request of the architect for the referenced project, Mr. James Hillhouse, I have evaluated
the existing site in right of this proposal. My purpose was to determine the extent of revision,
if any, to the current drainage pattern for the property or the overall area.
Currently, the site is almost totally impervious, covered either by building or pavement. The
only exception is a small landscaped area of approximately 400 sq. ft. at the southwest comer of
the property. Aside from the front walk area and a small portion of roof on the principal
building, the site slopes gently from west to east, draining to the alley along the east edge of the
parcel. My observation is supported by the topographic data shown on the City Drainage Map of
the area.
My understanding of the project proposal is that the site will remain essentially impervious,
aside from a landscaped area along the south edge, as shown on the Site Plan. Also, final grading
of the ground -level covered parking will be such as to allow that level to continue to -drain to
the alley, at approximately the same slope. The roof of the three-story structure proposed will
also be sloped to drain to the rear, or alley, side of the lot as well. In this way, the current
drainage pattern of the site will remain essentially unchanged when the project is complete.
During the construction process, care will be exercised by means of gravel and/or paved pad
areas, silt fences if found to be necessary and other efforts to keep soil or construction
