Anne:
I would say no, since I wouldn't consider this the same colony as the one to the south of Conifer. The one
to the south of Conifer has approached 50 acres at times, but not sure where it stands now. I would
consider this as separate, though, due to Conifer. The colony that is part of the Import Auto Towing site is
definitely less than 50 acres, so does not trigger protection standards.

Thanks for your comments. I'll pass them along. I have certainly heard of this colony and about citizen's
fondness for them. Just one question: is this colony overall bigger than the threshold needed to trigger
protection standards?
Thanks,
Anne

Anne:
Just a reminder that this site contains part of a small, active prairie dog colony, so the owner needs to do
removal of the animals before grading. At this time, we know of no one accepting prairie dogs for
relocation. They'll have to keep a watch out for prairie dogs moving onto the site during construction since
there are prairie dogs to the south of the proposed site, including south of Conifer. This is also a really
"popular" prairie dog colony —lots of folks fairly "attached" to this animals, Anne. But owner probably
knows that already!
3.4.1 (6) Prairie Dog Removal. Before the commencement of grading or other construction on the
development site, any prairie dogs inhabiting portions of the site within the LOD shall be relocated or
eradicated by the developer using city -approved methods as set forth in Chapter 4 of the City Code and,
when applicable, using methods reviewed and approved by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
