Dear Resident:
On Monday, February 11, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Preston Junior High
School, 4901 Corbett Drive, the City of Fort Collins Current Planning Department
will hold a neighborhood information meeting to discuss a development proposal
in your neighborhood. The project is the New Poudre School District High
School which is anticipated to open in August of 2004.
The 2004 High School consists of a 94-acre campus located on a portion of the
Webster Farm that lies north of McClelland Creek. This parcel is south of Rock
Creek Drive, west of Ziegler Road (C.R.#9), north of Kechter Road (C.R.36), and
east of Cambridge Avenue (extended). Please see map on reverse.
The new high school is being planned for 1,800 students. The multi -story
building would include approximately 267,000 square feet. There would be
roughly 24 acres of athletic fields including one illuminated soccer field/track
facility and one illuminated varsity baseball diamond. As planned, there would be
923 student parking spaces and 175 spaces for faculty and staff.
The area south of McClelland Creek consists of approximately 40 acres and is
being considered for purchase by the City of Fort Collins for a future community
park.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call our office at 970-221-
6750.
Sincerely:
Ted Shepard
Chief Planner
