New High School
Ted - Here is the official update on my meeting with Bill Franzen, John Little, Pete Hall and Ed Holder this
afternoon re: the Webster Farm and the new high school on Ziegler Road. The School District's first
choice would be to demo the historic farmhouse or give that chunk of land to Parks and Rec and let them
deal with it. Recognizing that these options could be more difficult to achieve (and as they put it, cause
bad publicity they don't want) they are willing to retain the house, and either incorporate it into their
programing, carve off an approx. 10 acre lot with the historic buildings and sell it, or mothball the buildings
until a new use becomes apparent. If they decide to use the buildings themselves, they will likely
designate them and take advantage of the incentives. They will be asking the LPC for a formal
determination of eligibility shortly.
