Mr. Jones - we received the announcement of the wish to rezone 3107 San Luis to allow a group home for
assisted living. I object to this movement on two counts. One, the time of the hearing is too close in the
future. I recommend that the hearing be in September when all vacations are ended and more of the
Dakota Ridge residents are able to attend. Second, I recommend that the buyers of this property be
thoroughly investigated. We moved from Atlanta where exactly the same issue occurred in our
neighborhood. The zoning was approved, modifications to the single family home were made and the
group home went out of business in less than 8 months. No one family wanted to then purchase the
property since the modifications were made and it became a rental property and eventually an eyesore
and foreclosed by the city. Dakota Ridge is a single family dwelling area in this block and it should remain
so. Three people assisted living is fine- anymore will constitute a commercial endeavor and one that I
strongly oppose.
Please put this off till September, at least and please investigate this offer more closely.
