Subject: Southeast Comer of Taft Hill and Drake
I would like to give you my input regarding the development of the
Southeast Comer of Taft Hill and Drake.
Let the owners do what they want with their property! Let them put
medium density housing there, if they feel that is what the market
wants, let them take the risk and develop it!
I personally dislike that type of high density, but that is why I won't .
buy such a unit. However I do not believe in stopping others from doing
what they want because I don't like it.
The flyer going around my neighborhood (Quail Hollow) suggests we oppose
the development because it will make traffic worse. I find that type of
argument offensive, it denies some the opportunity to make a profit and
others a chance to buy a home they desire because "we were here first"
and it would be "inconvenient" if there were more houses in the area!
Others argue that this is simply about profits, about a developer making
more money. Good! Profits indicate he has developed something the
market desires, he is doing the community a service by giving them what
they want.
I believe property rights are almost sacred. I believe in letting
people do what they want with their property as long as they don't
directly infringe upon the rights of their neighbors.
I have no connection with anyone involved with this development in any
way. I simply believe in property rights.
