Dear Resident:
May 1, 2003
On Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 6:30 p.m., in the City Council chambers, City Hall
West, 300 LaPorte Avenue, Fort Collins, CO., the Planning and Zoning Board will
consider a development proposal in your neighborhood. The project is known
as the Expansion and Remodel of the Centennial School, #39-02, Site Plan
Advisory Review.
Centennial High School is owned by the Poudre School District. As proposed,
the District's project includes removing the westerly building, addressed as 650
Mathews Street, and removal of the easterly building (gymnasium). Also, the
temporary modular classrooms and storage containers would be removed as
well.
The expansion includes two components. First there would be a two-story
addition for offices, computer labs and an elevator immediately to the west of the
historic building. Second, there would be a new, detached, building located to
the west of the aforementioned addition. This second structure would be
separated by about 30 feet from the main building and include a gymnasium,
science labs, art room and space for vocational trades. This westerly building
would feature two stories along Mathews and one story toward the middle of the
campus.
The old gymnasium would be replaced by an open space area. Total new
construction would be approximately 22,000 square feet which would bring the
total campus building area up to approximately 40,000 square feet.
The list of affected property owners for this public meeting is derived from official
records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between
occupancy and record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected
property owners may have been missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor
of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the opportunity to attend.
Sincere :
