I am writing this letter in response to the informational letter you sent regarding the "New
South Dormitory" proposed by CSU. I have a real problem with the amount of parking
that CSU is allowing for cars. They say that the dorm will house 700 students and yet
there would be only 200 parking spaces. Where are the other 500 cars going to go? Out
into the neighborhood or into our commercial parking lot at Campus West!
When is the City going to come to their senses and realize that people (students) bring
cars to Campus and need a place to park these vehicles legally? You will be doing a
great disservice to the community and citizens of Fort Collins if you allow this dorm to
be built with so little parking provided for the students. I believe that a new dorm is
needed on Campus, but be realistic and provide adequate parking (and in my opinion 200
cars for 700 students is no where near adequate!)
