[4/22/05] The grate for the alley drainage is not required. The grate could be removed and
the flows can just enter the concrete channel. This will also allow for additional slope.
There is only .05 feet of drop along the channel.

[4/22105] A radius is required for the junction of the concrete channel with the existing curb
and gutter. See redlined plans.

ISSUES:

Issue Contact: Marc Virata
Topic: General
Number. 55 Created: 1 /18/2005
[4/19/05] The redesign has concerns. Only .2% of grade is being provided, there's not
enough slope to ensure'adequate drainage. In talking with Stdrmwater, couldn't the design
function better if the grate in the alley was eliminated and a chase was designed from the
alley out to the sidewalk by haying the invert elevation at the alley start at 66.42 to daylight
to the street at 66.21? Rather than a grate on the sidewalk, use a metal plate (see attached
detail). I '
[1/18/05] Is it the case that the drainage collected from the inlet on the west side of the alley
cannot be directed underneath the sidewalk to the west out to Olive Street instead of the
grate system? This would reduce costs as well as general concerns on the amount of
concrete pavement beneath the grate system to ensure it holds up to traffic.
