Concerning vinyl coating of the fence along Wood Street: The existing chain link
fences across the street at the Wood Street Utilities Facility are galvanized, to be
cohesive with the aesthetic already established in the area, galvanized fencing would
better match the existing design elements.
Concerning adding trees at the rear of the building envelope of Building C: The city
plans on constructing Building C as soon has funds are available. The building
envelope for Building C is only 5' from the west property line. Any trees planted
within that 5' area between Building C's envelope and the property line would be
damaged and need to be removed when Building C is constructed.
As stated in the review comment, current planning is concerned about the loss of
screening that the immediate construction of building C would provide. We have
analyzed the site and its context to the neighboring parcels to the west. A majority of
the land west of the site is owned by the City and will not be adversely affected by
not immediately constructing Building C. In addition, there are several groves of
trees in the parcels to the west of the site that screen the site from neighbors and
public right of ways (see attached aerial photo). Due to the screening provided by the
existing trees and the loss of newly planted trees when Building C constructed, we
prefer not to plant trees along the west edge of Building C.
Until Building C and B is complete the area will be planted with non -irrigated seed.
A note stating "The Rails to Trails Easement will be vacated prior to the issuance of a
building permit for building C" has been added to the site plan.
