Hi Walt,
Yes, you have met engineering's requirement of a 28' wide curb cut, however, it is completely up to PFA if
they will not require the 30' curb cut for your 3 story building.
Engineering's minimum radii off an arterial for a high volume drive is 20' UNLESS its part of an emergency
access drive. Then it's 25'. PFA would be the appropriate agency to request a variance from in this
instance.
In both cases, a written variance is required and if granted, must be listed under line 48 of the general
notes on the cover sheet. Please see section 1.9.4 of LCUASS for variance procedures.

Susan, In response to your comment #29 regarding the curb cut opening, I have the following:
According to LCUASS, our curb cut opening is allowed to be 28' wide for multi -family of this density. The
fire department has already aknowledged that a smaller curb cut is allowed so long as the drive flares to
the 30' as per comment #116. 1 have included a revision showing both a 25' and 20' radii. If the 28' wide
curb cut is acceptable, then we can approach PFA about the radii. Note that at least one, if not both of
your light poles and their respective electrical junction box must be relocated. Additionally, we will have to
remove additional sidewalk back from the proposed curb cut to an existing control joint so the new walk
can match your pattern. Attached is a drawing for your review.
