(Date) Date) January 18, 2007 Dear Hearthside and Homestead Residents, Our names are Robert and Laura Quaid, and we own Lot 10 in the Hearthside development (2950 Hearthstone Drive). We would like to inform you in advance that we are submitting a request for a variance for -the design of our home with the City of Fort Collins. Unfortunately, the county (in an intergovernmental agreement) has created a strange building envelope with an 80 foot front set back which makes the lot practically unbuildable for a ranch -style home. Therefore, we are asking the city to change the front set back from 80 feet to 40 feet (most of the lots have a 20-25 foot front set back) as well as give us an additional 10 feet on the west corner of the lot. Architecture plans have been drawn for a Tuscan -style, walk -out ranch home with a low pitched roof line which would not obstruct the view of our neighbors and would be very adaptable to our lot. We would be very grateful for your signature on this letter which would show the City of Fort Collins that you approve of our request for the change of the front and side set backs: Thank you for taking the time to consider this issue.
