Torgerson Architects CITY PLANNER: Anne Aspen This is a proposal for a 7,276 square foot mixed -use building on approximately 0.25 acres located at 325 Cherry Street. The project also includes an affordable housing unit in an existing single-family detached home located at 317 Cherry Street. QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, COMMENTS, RESPONSES The only resident of the area in attendance at this meeting was Peder Halseide 1. Concern: My main concern is the speed of traffic on Cherry - and it's mostly City employees going west to Wood Street. 2. Question: Is diagonal parking a possibility? Answer: Katie Moore: Cherry St is a collector street carrying arterial traffic - diagonal parking is not advised by City Traffic Engineer; maybe traffic calming could be incorporated. The City Traffic Engineer is not keen on diagonal or reverse diagonal parking on streets with high volume. 3. Question: Can City vehicles be requested not to use Cherry Street to get to Wood Street facility? (Use LaPorte & Shields instead?) Answer: That is a separate issue but could be looked into. 4. Question: What about a median? Answer: Katie Moore: Yes that is possible but it would need to be designed and paid for by engineer. 5. Comment: A roundabout would be great at the corner. 6. Comment: The issue is who pays; the City does not have the money. Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm. 1
