Date: 9/29/04 4:12PM Subject: Re: 300 Smith Street, Ft. Collins TREES IN THE RIGHT -OF-WAY Hi Rosita Thank you for contacting me about the trees at 300 Smith. I don't recall your previous contact so I am glad you emailed. At 300 Smith there are trees on the City right of way. From the corner going east on Olive. Norway Maple Medium size Green Ash Medium size Clump of weedy Siberian Elms Should be removed Clump of Boxelder Should be removed Form the corner going south along Smith. Green Ash small For trees on private property the development code requires significant trees (good species, not broken dead or fallen and over 6 inch diameter) to be retained to the extent possible. Significant trees to be retained need to be protected during construction. All trees on the site need to be identified as to type with intent to save or remove on the landscape plan. I can meet you on site to identify trees and evaluate condition. Landscaping and tree protection is covered in 3.2.1 of the Development Code. The City does care for trees in,the right of way. Although when projects are going through the development process they are required to prune existing trees to bring them up to standard. Let me know if you have any question and if you would like to meet on the site.
