It is a matter of course in my day to schedule meetings directly with project consultants. Many developers and owners do not wish to be involved in these meetings. Now that I know your style, I will certainly contact you to schedule appointments with consultants. My role as your development review project planner is to ensure that your project goes through our development review process in an effective and timely manner. In addition, I am charged with the task of making sure you are hitting the planning and architecture marks of our Land Use Code. I'm excited about Willow Street Lofts —I think it will fit in well with its neighbors, the Bas Bleu Theatre and the new community center and help to enliven that part of downtown. The architecture of the project has improved significantly with the changes you have made thus far to the plans, including the projections and recesses in the facades of the residential units and the change in materials from siding to brick, stone and stucco. But as I told you in our meeting on December 15, there is still a ways to go with the massing and detailing of the building before it meets the spirit or the letter of the Land Use Code standards for downtown. I understand you are delving into the floor plans in more detail and wish to get comments from me after that, but that will be too late in the scheme of things. There are issues at the development review level which will likely change floor plans, especially in the Willow St. fronting building. I urge you to schedule an appointment with me and your architect as soon as possible to discuss these changes so that there will not be unnecessary delays. Thanks for writing and I look forward to meeting with you soon. Please call or email once you have had a chance to confer with your architect. Sincerely, 10 IeH. Aspen 281 North College Avenue • P.O.
