PROJECT: 321 Myrtle
DATE: January 12, 2005
APPLICANT: Matt Mulligan
CITY PLANNER: Anne Aspen
The Applicant is proposing a change of use for an existing multi -family building
to a fraternity. Neither the applicant nor the applicant's representatives were
present. One neighbor arrived late at 7:30pm.
QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, COMMENTS, RESPONSES
He had no questions, just a concern about parking and potential fall -out from
the fraternity. I told him that the building was already occupied by the
fraternity members and no new parking would be required since this building
was relatively recently constructed and meets the parking requirements as
constructed. I explained that the only change proposed was the hanging of the
fraternity letters on the building.
I also told him that despite the applicant's absence at the meeting, the Delta
Chi Fraternity has a good reputation. On campus, they have one of the highest
GPAs of the Greek organizations. Also, the City's Neighborhood Resources
Office commented prior to the meeting that this fraternity conducted a
successful neighborhood cleanup after the late summer rioting near campus to
counter the typical image of fraternities.
The neighbor did not have any further questions and was not overly concerned
about the proposal.
The meeting adjourned at about 8:00 pm
