I understand your need to process the project with the current code, but obviously the requirements of the current code would greatly alter the original 1930's era building to such a degree that the goal of the project could not be met. I'm forwarding this message to Carol Tunner who is the historic preservation planner involved in this project from Advance Planning. I am pretty sure this dilemma has come up before either here in Fort Collins or elsewhere and she will know how we or other municipalities have handled it. I hope she can get back to us with information on how we should proceed. Anne >>> Rick Lee 11/01/04 04:26PM >>> The above project (60406459) came across my desk today and I notice that the new use of this structure would require that it meet all of the current building code standards. Accessibility is especially important especially if it is going to be used publically. I contacted Byron McGough (applicant) about this today and he said that I should contact you since 1930 vintage is the goal of the project. Don't know how I can do this since I must enforce the current code. Please contact me or my supervisor (Mike Gebo) how I can process this application.
