Therefore, I wanted to confirm/verify a particular item related to the emergency access road connecting to Mulberry Street. This is the location of the existing curb inlet. We are proposing to modify the inlet box and construct a standard driveway approach so that emergency vehicles will not have to contend with a vertical curb face or an open -throat inlet. However, in looking at the configuration of the existing inlet box and storm sewer system in Mulberry, we are limited in the extent that we can modify this area. Per our previous discussions, we will be providing a 20-ft wide asphalt surface for the emergency access road. Due to the constraints mentioned above at the inlet box to be modified, we cannot provide a 20-ft wide flush surface at the flowline of Mulberry. Starting 6-ft east of the proposed 20-ft access drive, we will depress the curb from 6-in high to zero so that it is flush with the flowline at the eastern edge of the EA drive. The curb will remain flush for the next 17-ft heading west. At that point, we will have to start transitioning back up to the 6-in curb height for the modified inlet box. This means the western -most 3-ft of the 20-ft emergency access drive entrance will not be flush with the flowline. Instead, the curb will be in transition from zero to 3-in high (the remaining 3-in vertical gain will occur in the 3-ft immediately west of the EA drive). Even if you did receive a new set of plans, this information may not be obvious due to the preliminary level of detail provided at the PDP phase. We will address further specifics during Final Compliance, but after all of the coordination we've had on this project to date, I just wanted to ensure this entrance condition is acceptable to you. Thanks for all of your time and effort. Nick Haws www.northernengineering.com CC: "'Susan Joy" <sjoy@fcgov.com>
