RE: Airpark Village Annexation
Dear Mr. Shepard
This letter acknowledges receipt of the Petition for the above proposed annexation to the
City of Fort Collins. Recently, staff from the Larimer County Planning, Engineering and
Health Departments met to review these materials.
Rex Burns, Project Engineer with Larimer County Engineering had these comments to
make regarding drainage for this area.
I have reviewed this proposed annexation and have the following comments:
1. The area being annexed lies within the Dry Creek Stormwater Basin and includes
a significant reach of Dry Creek itself.
2. Stormwater facilities provided within this area should take into account the need
for improved stormwater conditions in the East Mulberry Industrial Area
3. To the extent possible, storm water from the area of this proposed annexation should be
routed so as not to worsen drainage conditions in the industrial area lying between it and
Highway 14. A proposed structure which is planned oft the intersection of Dry Creek and the
Airport channel should have the ability to temporarily route all flows into the channel during
times of flooding.
