COLLEGE AVE. - PDP - 26-05 - CORRESPONDENCE - LANDSCAPE PLANComma. _ry Planning and Environmental services Current Planning City of Fort Collins October 11, 2005 Cathy Mathis V-F Ripley 401 West Mountain Avenue Fort Collins, CO 80521 RE: Belle Claire Mitigation Trees Dear Cathy: The City Forester has evaluated the existing Linden tree at the immediate intersection of Olive Street and the north -south alley and has determined that removal for utility installation will warrant mitigation in accordance with Section 3.2.1(F) of the Land Use Code. The mitigation shall be two 3-inch caliper deciduous shade trees. Normally, mitigation trees are to be placed on the site. It is doubtful, however, that there remains sufficient land area for two extra trees. In lieu of providing two extra trees on the project site, the City Forester recommends that the cash value be provided to the Forestry Division. The City Forester will then plant the two trees on public property in the near vicinity of the Belle Claire project. The cash value is $300.00 per tree. Please remit $600.00 to the City of Fort Collins to the attention of Tim Buchanan, City Forester prior to recording final documents. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to call Mr. Buchanan 221-6361. Sincerely: Ted Shepard Chief Planner Xc: Tim Buchanan, City Forester 281 North College Avenue • P.O.
