QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, COMMENTS
1. I live east of the detention pond in Fox Meadows. What will the height of
the building be?
A. The building will be one story but the roof will have a volume of air space
so that portions of the building will appear to one and one-half stories.
The pitched roof will lend a residential character to the structure.
2. You mentioned there will be a spa. What does that include?
A. This will include a separate area for ladies for services that are typically be
provided by the day spa service industry.
3. And you mentioned that there will be a ladies -only component?
A. Yes, our market research indicates that there is a demand for ladies -only
type health and exercise services. This includes rehabilitation services as
well.
4. How big will the yoga/pilates studio be?
A. About 3,000 square feet.
5. How big will the fitness room be?
A. About 5,500 feet.
6. Will .you have enough parking?
A. Yes, we think 117 parking stalls will be sufficient for clients and staff.
7. What is your timeframe for construction and opening?
A. We expect to start construction in December of this year or January of
2006.
8. Will there be direct access off Timberline Road?
A. No, sole access will be from Bighorn Drive.

The meeting began with a description of the proposed project. This is a request
for a health club.
The proposed project is located at the southeast comer of Timberline Road and
Bighorn Drive. The site is two acres in size. The site is presently vacant and is
referred to as Tract B of Fox Meadows Business Park. The site is surrounded by
Bighorn Drive on the north, an existing stormwater detention pond on the east,
the existing Sunstone drainage channel on the south and Timberline Road on the
west. The site is zoned E, Employment.
As proposed, the project consists of a one-story health and membership club
containing approximately 25,000 square feet. There would be about 117 parking
stalls. Activities within the club are anticipated to include general exercise,
aerobics, yoga, pilates, rehabilitation, day spa and tanning booth. There would
be no pool or gymnasium.
In the Employment zone, a health and membership club is classified as a
secondary use and not allowed to exceed 25% of the development plan. On
April 21, 2005, the Planning and Zoning Board granted a Request for
Modification to allow 100% of the subject parcel to feature a health and
membership club, limited indoor recreation and child care center.
