Collins, CO 80522 Dear Steve Olt and Shelby Sommer: Dr. Gordon Hadfield 1612 Prospect Lane Fort Collins, CO 80526 I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed Swanstrom Boarding Houses. Several factors have shaped my opinion. First, the area is already filled to capacity. I travel down Whitcomb past Blevins Court on my way to work, and the street is frequently littered with trash and crammed full of vehicles. This area simply cannot reasonably sustain more renters. Second, the fact that "no structural changes are proposed" to the existing structures leads me to believe that no real changes will be made to accommodate the additional residents. The proposed zoning change is simply an attempt to sidestep the Fort Collins 3-unrelated ordinance. Lastly, I wonder if the owners of the proposed Swanstrom Boarding Houses live in this area. Both my wife and I are professors in CSU's English department; we love CSU and feel privileged to interact with its students. This said, cramming an excess of young renters into crowded and inadequate structures will simply create additional problems for the entire neighborhood. Please help us protect our neighborhood by denying the request to convert the existing single family structures into extra -occupancy rental houses. Thank Y u, Dr.- ordon Hadfield
