Dear Ms. Maloney,
I recently received your letter regarding the April 20, 2006 Planning and Zoning Board
Meeting. You were correct in stating that the Front Porch Property, 1234 W. Prospect
Change of Use Project Development Plan item was on the Consent Agenda.
Unfortunately the order of proceedings may not have been clearly communicated,
especially with respect to items which are pulled from the Consent Agenda and placed
on the Discussion Agenda. Typically, items that are pulled from the Consent Agenda
are discussed before the regular discussion items, so that parties of interest do not
need to wait through the other proceedings for the pulled item(s) to be discussed. This
Planning and Zoning Board process differs from the City Council proceedings where
pulled Consent Agenda items are discussed at the end of the meeting. Please accept
my apologies for the lack of clear information.
Our Planning and Zoning Board will be discussing our notification policies and formats
at their next worksession on Friday, June 9, 2006. 1 will be sure to forward the board
members your comments regarding our process so that we can address them with
future public hearings and notification letters.
