Shelby - Historic Preservation staff has no issues with the plans for the accessory building proposed at
520 South Loomis. The existing residence and garage have been reviewed for potential Landmark
eligibility, under Section 14-72 of the Municipal Code, and were found to likely be individually eligible for
Landmark designation. The plans for the accessary building were then reviewed for compliance with
Section 3.4.7 of the LUC. It was determined that the location of the accessary building, combined with its
design and materials, should be sufficient to mitigate any negative potential effects on the eligibility of the
historic buildings that the new structure might have, and that the plans are in compliance with the
standards in this Section.
