With the new fence along the perimeter of the property, what purpose does this fence serve? Separating the two structures this way makes it appear to be a separate dwelling unit rather than an accessory building for the main house. The existing chain link fence and few stairs in the back yard were already there when we bought this property in January, 2006. 1 think the previous owner kept his dogs In this area of the back yard. We plan on removing this old chain link fence since it is ancient and ugly. The steps are useful as the far part of the back yard is a bit lower than the front part of the backyard.
