The School would like to work with the City to determine the best combinations to mitigate traffic impact to the local area and Harmony Road. Of course the school is also open to other reasonable suggestions in addition to the ones listed below. • Arrival and Departure times of students can be staggered • The hours of the day that school is in session can be adjusted some to mitigate conflicts with other activities and hours of operation of other businesses and schools in the area, • Car pooling will be encouraged, and • Shuttle busses will be added to the possibilities as finances become available in the future. Current enrollment of the school is approximately 250 students coming from 150 families. This ratio in itself will reduce the numbers of trips to and from the site significantly from the total of students enrolled. It is anticipated that this approximate ratio of families to students will carry to the ultimate enrollment of 550 students. It is hoped, that through the implementation of these or other methods, the over-all traffic impact of the school can be reduced close to what was generated by the prior office occupant. Occupancy of the building as an office is estimated at 250 +/-. !41 parking stalls were originally provided on the site. On site traffic will be supervised by teachers or other responsible adults during student arrival to, and departure from the site. On site automobile circulation will be one way on the site to provide for automobile stacking on site as much as possible. Loading and unloading and student access to and departure from the building will be from the east side. Two on site lanes are available for stacking. Bicycle racks are provided on site to encourage those students in close proximity and who are able to bicycle to the site to do so. We have enclosed a site plan for your review and comments that lays out the above described site parameters. We are also open to suggestions that City Staff may have in reviewing the project. The current use on the site is that of an Office building that has housed the US Forest Service for the last 15 or so years. The Owner and Operator of the School will be the Northern Colorado Academy of Arts and Knowledge, Inc. (NCAAK), a Colorado Non -Profit Corporation in good standing. The school will ultimately house grades K through 8. A separately licensed, single room preschool will also be housed in the facility. Anticipated full enrollment to be achieved in 2008 is 550 students. The school hopes to open its doors with 400 students in the fall of 2006. The school will have 200 student contact days per year. Hours of operation will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students will be present on the site from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a few students remaining on site later in the day for extra curricular activities.
