The project is referred to as the Northern Colorado Academy of the Arts and Knowledge Charter School Site Plan Advisory Review. This project is a request for a change of use for the existing office building located at 4512 McMurry Avenue to a charter school known as the Northern Colorado Academy of the Arts and Knowledge (NCAAK). This property is in the Harmony Corridor Zoning District. Public and private schools for elementary, intermediate and high school education are permitted uses in this zoning district, subject to review and comment by the Planning and Zoning Board. The proposed school will house grades K through 9, with a separate single room preschool. There are no major changes proposed for existing building exterior, but the interior is being remodeled to better suit the needs of the school. Proposed changes to the site include a hard surface play area, play equipment, basketball court, bicycle racks, fences, drop-off area and on -site traffic stacking lanes. The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between home occupancy and record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the opportunity to attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are welcome.
