Subject: Adding health club to the RDR
I think Old Town Athletic Club might have a problem going to 351 Linden. I asked Jenny Nuckols if the
club currently complies with the health club definition (she's a member there). She said they only offer 2
of the "menu" items from the definition. For it to be a health club, they have to offer 3 selections. Maybe
they will add one function when they move, but we need to be sure. As you might recall, until recently we
didn't have a definition of health club, and the "limited indoor recreation facility" definition didn't have the
5000 square foot limit. When the Old Town Athletic club moved into 123 N. College, they were classified
as a limited indoor recreation use even though they are larger than 5000 s.f. So before we proceed with
their requested change, we probably should get a written response from them as to what they will offer. l
they won't qualify as a health club, then I don't know what we do.
Peter.
