HomeMy WebLinkAbout351 LINDEN ST. - LUC TEXT AMENDMENT - 24-06 - CORRESPONDENCE -,. rather than discuss each proposal individually. At the beginning of the Planning and Zoning Board Meeting, the chairperson will ask the members of the Board and audience if they would like any items on the Consent Agenda to be "pulled" off for a detailed discussion. This seems unlikely for this project, but if it does happen, please be prepared to give a brief presentation and/or answer any questions about the proposal. I will have a PowerPoint presentation prepared, and if you have any slides to add to the show please feel free to email them to me before the meeting. I will be preparing a staff report summarizing and evaluating the proposal and will be recommending approval. Please contact me if you would like a copy of this report, as it will be finalized by September 7. The Planning and Zoning Board Worksession is on Friday, September 15. The purpose of the Worksession is to ask questions of staff and/or applicants about agenda items for the upcoming meeting. You are welcome to attend this Worksession, and I will have a rough agenda approximately one week in advance. There may or may not be any discussion of this proposal at the Worksession. At the September 21 Planning and Zoning Board Meeting, the Board will issue a recommendation to City Council regarding this project. I have scheduled the first reading of this proposal before City Council for Tuesday, October 3. As long as this project and City Council stay on schedule, the second reading/decision before City Council will be on Tuesday, October 17. If you have any questions regarding these issues or any other issues related to this project, please feel free to call me at (970) 221-6750. The definition is: "an establishment that is open only to members and guests and that provides facilities for at least three (3) of the following: aerobic exercises, running and jogging, exercise equipment, game courts and swimming facilities, and that also includes amenities such as spas, saunas, showers and lockers." Other than that, I have no comments. Department: Transportation Planning Issue Contact: David Averill Topic: Zoning Number: 2 Created: 8/29/2006 [8/29/06] No comments ... Department: Current Planning Issue Contact: Shelby Sommer Topic: Zoning Number: 3 Created: 8/30/2006 [8/30/06] The following departments have no concerns with this proposal: Engineering, Advance Planning, and City Attorney. Number: 4 Created: 8/30/2006 [8/30/06] Due to the applicant's response regarding the "health club" definition, and the facilities that this club will offer, there are no concerns with this proposal. Staff recommends that "health clubs" be added to the RDR as Administrative (type one) permitted uses. If this Land Use Code amendment is approved, the Old Town Athletic Club will be subject to Administrative review and approval. This project will be placed on the Consent Agenda for the Planning and Zoning Board's September 21 meeting.. Items on the Consent Agenda are typically items with little or no known controversy, so that the Board may approve a group of items Page 1
