Shelby
We looked at the site and we would like to have a shelter placed on this site, south of Hemlock on North
College. Currently we have a bus stop (unimproved area - bench only) south of Conifer but would like to
move it to South of Hemlock. The size of the pad we need is incorporated into the site is 10 X 22 feet.
We contract shelter advertising with NextMedia and they will provide the advertising shelter. The
placement of the pad is open other then we need it to be placed at least 50 to 60 feet south of Hemlock.
I would be happy to meet with you to discuss further if needed
Thanks for you help on this.

Hi Kathleen,
I'm just wondering if you've had time to look into bus shelter requirements/specifications for the proposed
Advance Auto site at College/Hemlock? I need to get an official comment letter out to the applicant today
and they are going to need more specifics about the size and location of the pad in order to revise their
site plan.
Thanks!

Lucy,
I definitely understand the concern that we have with a bus stop and shelter in front of business'. I work
with placing bus stops regularly in both commercial and residential areas, and do not want to place a
shelter so that it would be blocking the front door of the business.
With my limited knowledge of site plans, engineering, and right of way, I measured with a ruler where my
idea of the bus stop/ shelter would be placed at this location south of Hemlock.
The second attached PDF file is my doctored sight plan.
I measured —45 feet from the existing streetlight southbound.
Placing the southern most edge of the shelter pad —45 feet south of the streetlight and the northen end of
the pad at — 23 feet from the street light. This location would leave the shelter toward the northern end of
the building and —45 feet from the front door of the Advanced Auto Parts. All we need to do is clear the
Hemlock intersection with a bus. The buses are 35' -40' in length. The farther north, closer to Hemlock,
the better it is for us.
The doctored PDF is more what I have in mind for the shelter then farther south.
If this will not work we can place a bench pad at the northern end of the site.
Thank you for your help on this.

Kathy:
Thank you for reviewing this site for us in context of the requested bus
shelter. I am available to meet with you or engineering if you wish to
discuss possibilities. Our concerns involve visibility, closeness to the
front door of the store and closeness to the detention pond. Thank you
for your time.
Shelby - Kathy had been working off an earlier site plan. I sent her
the most recent one which shows where detention is etc. I really
appreciate your help on this issue.
Thank you both
