Collins Supportive Housing The plan encourages the use of oaks, so it would seem appropriate for them to include oaks in the streetscape area. The current plan has crab apples, which would not function as canopy shade trees. The use of Bur Oak would be would be a good choice. 19 rit Tim Buchanan, City Forester City of Fort Collins POB 580 215 North Mason Street - 3rd Floor Fort Collins CO 80522-0580 ph 970-221-6361 fx 970-221-6586 >>> Ted Shepard 3/14/2007 4:00 PM >>> Yes, it's in the Harmony Corridor, but since it is west of Boardwalk, the 80-foot buffer does not apply Does this answer your question? >>> Tim Buchanan 03/14/07 2:36 PM >>> Hi Dana Thanks for the heads up. We will definitely need take a look in these trees in the field. I am available and will let you know when they contact me. Ted, do you know if the Harmony Corridor plan includes the frontage by this site Tim >>> Dana Leavitt 3/14/2007 2:32 PM >>> Tim, Just a heads up on this project. Being affordable housing, it has an accelerated review process. There are a few trees along the Harmony Road frontage that need to be looked at. Also, along the east property line abutting the back yard of a residence are several good sized shade trees. The proposed grading extends into the drip edge with cuts up to 2 feet and fills up to 2 feet. I'm concerned about the grading impacts on the neighbor's trees. We've told them to contact you to do a site visit. I wanted to give you a heads up. Don't know where itwill fit into your priority list.
